The Village of South Holland has received questions from residents regarding odors coming from the Thornton Quarry area.
The Thornton Composite Reservoir is owned and operated by the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD). During periods of heavy rainfall and stormwater storage, odors may occasionally be noticeable in surrounding communities.
