SHRS - Program Assistant
The Village of South Holland, Illinois, a leading suburb located 25 miles south of downtown Chicago with a population of approximately 22,000, is seeking a Program Assistant with its Recreational Services Department.

WAGE: $21.72
Essential Functions:
The position of Program Assistant is responsible for, but not limited to, assisting with conducting the day-to-day operational management and implementation of activities pertaining to programming, marketing, social media, rentals, and event planning for the Department of Recreational Services.
Requirements:
- Minimum Associates Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in recreation administration, business administration, marketing or a related field
- Ability to independently initiate projects and activities, and work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent communication, time management, writing and negotiating skills
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Must enjoy working with the public
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality and possess excellent client interaction skills
- Develop effective marketing strategies
- Plan, manage, and schedule recreational programs that meet the needs of the community
- Develop accurate budgets of program revenues and expenditures
- Establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with the department directors, subordinates, community groups, program participants, representatives of public and private agencies, and the general public
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Interpret and implement departmental policies and procedures
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
- Use a variety of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point, ActiveNet, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record
