The Treasurer’s Office manages the Village’s finances—balancing the annual budget, planning for future needs, and keeping real estate taxes reasonable while funding quality services.

Key Responsibilities

• Budget Preparation – Develops the annual budget each spring, setting spending limits and determining tax requirements.
• Financial Stewardship – Ensures revenues and expenditures are accounted for, supporting a balanced budget each year.
• Business Development – Supports new and existing businesses to broaden the tax base and generate sales tax revenues, reducing the burden on residents.

The Village currently receives more revenue from sales tax than from property taxes, making business growth vital to long-term stability. The Treasurer also advises the Village Board on incentives that encourage new development.
