Public Works Department
Snow Ordinance and Street Parking:
The Village's snow ordinance calls for the removal of automobiles from local streets after a snowfall of two inches or more. Residents are asked to cooperate so that plowing may be completed without hindrance. The Police Department will once again tow vehicles which are in violation of this ordinance at the owner's expense. The Public Works Department also advises that there will be no branch pickups until April.
Removing Snow from Driveways and Sidewalks:
When clearing snow from your driveways and sidewalks, please do not place snow in the street. Placing snow to the right of your driveway will minimize the amount that may get plowed back into your driveway.
Please also clear snow from an area of at least 3 feet around fire hydrants.
The primary mission of the South Holland Public Works Department is to provide a variety of services designed to help
and protect village residents from adverse conditions created by man or nature, and to perform them as expediently as possible.
