This beautiful 21 acre park located along the south bank of
the Little Calumet River, is the oldest and most active park in the community. Most major
community events are held here. The park includes a Little League field, 3 softball
fields, a tiny tot playground, a playground for older children, 2 drinking fountains,
permanent and portable toilets, a pavilion for groups of up to 250 people, a band stand
for the Municipal Band Concerts, a sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, and a Veterans
Memorial. In the near future, a bike path will be laid connecting Veterans Park to several
other parks.
Stay tuned... in
2007 and 2008, Veterans Park is undergoing a transformation including all
new ball fields, entrance area, concession stand building, walk/bike path,
children's water park, event amphitheater, and more!
