Crime prevention is possibly the single most important step to putting crooks out of business. The Investigative Division, through its Crime Prevention Unit, will teach you how to protect yourself against such common crimes as burglary, theft and robbery. You can learn how criminals operate, gain entry to their victims dwellings and what they steal. You will be taught how to secure and protect your dwelling and valuables against the criminals. You will be exposed to various security devices and how they operate. The OPERATION I.D. program will be fully explained to you. You will be taught how to mark and inventory your valuables, so if they are lost or stolen, you will have available a means of identifying and recovering these valuables. Important LIFE and DEATH situations, like meeting a burglar or robber face-to-face. In short, we will help you prevent and deter the most common crimes committed against citizens in our community.
