Asks Residents to Conserve Water
| The Village of South Holland is asking its residents and business owners to conserve water during this dry spell.
Residents are asked to keep the watering of their lawns to a minimum, especially during the hours of 11am to 7pm.
According to Fire Chief Jim Wiley, "There are no concerns related to firefighting capabilities at this point. Our Public Works Department monitors this very carefully because if there is an emergency, we want to make sure we have adequate water supply and pressure to handle it." Currently, the Village does not feel it is necessary to enforce restrictions on water use; however, the assistance of conscientious residents to voluntarily conserve water wherever possible is appreciated. |
