The Village of South Holland
Lights Up for the Holiday Season
On
Friday, December 3, 2004, Mayor Don De Graff was joined by Santa Claus, McKinley
Jr. High School Band, and more than 150 children for the official lighting of
the village Christmas trees in front of the municipal building.
Thornton Township also lit their community Christmas trees with the
assistance of Mayor De Graff, village and township trustees and local residents.
This
wonderful holiday tradition was enjoyed by many families, as children shared
their “wish list” with Santa and sipped delicious hot chocolate provided by
Starbucks. Santa’s elves handed out gift bags filled with treats donated by
the South Holland Garden Club, Dunkin Donuts, McDonalds and Walt’s.
“I
wish everyone a joy-filled Christmas and a meaningful and Happy New Year,”
exclaimed Mayor De Graff.
