Looking for a fun filled day?...Bring your family, friends, and neighbors to Veterans Park.
The 16th Annual Classic CAR SHOW and SWAP MEET, presented by Showcase Classics, will be wheeled into Paarlberg Park, located at 172nd Place and Paxton Avenue in South Holland on Saturday, September 1. Show opens at 8:00am and closes at 4:00pm.
Registration will begin at 8:00am... pre-registration by August 9 is $15 by calling 866-4RSHOWS or by visiting www.showcaseclassics.com. On-site registration the day of the show is $20 and registration ends at Noon. Free T-Shirt and Dash Plaque for the first 200 entries.
There is no admission fee for the general public and convenient parking is available at no cost, including trailer parking. Vendor space is available for the Swap Meet for $20.
Show vehicle classes include: antiques, stock cars, street machines, street rods, trucks, corvettes, custom, and special interest... 33 classes total. There will be professional judging, and 104 total trophies will be awarded. Best of Show will be determined on the day of the show, and the large Best of Show trophy will be awarded. The awards ceremonies begin at 3:00pm.
Entertainment, food vendors including the best beef sandwich & the famous South Holland Firehouse chili and much more that will satisfy any appetite...good company and memories are the ingredients for a most enjoyable car show...Bring your camera!

KIDS GARAGE SALE
Under the Big Top kids garage sale sets up at Paarlberg Park and runs from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Call the Parks and Recreation Department at 331-2940 to reserve a space for the largest garage sale in the area, where items sell in record time. Games, toys, books, and other great stuff sold by South Holland children ages 7-12. Space is FREE. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
PETTING ZOO AND PONY RIDES

Friendly Farms will provide pony rides and a petting zoo from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Come on out and ride the ponies or visit with the animals in the petting zoo located at the southeast corner of Veterans Park. Admission to the petting zoo is free, but you may purchase feed on site for the animals. Pony rides will be $1. These events are great photo opportunities, so bring your camera!
BOCCE TOURNAMENT
South Holland Business Association presents the annual Bocce Tournament at Paarlberg Park. Gather a team of four South Holland residents or business persons and call Chip Sobek at 331-2940 to register. There is no age limit. Be there at 8:00am on Saturday, September 1 to sign up your team. The competition is fierce and fun! Trophies and cash prizes for the winning teams. We should be able to place individuals in teams also, but you need to call.
