Breaking Bread and Making New Friends

2008 CommUNITY Dinners Registration Form

The main goal of CommUNITY Dinners is to foster positive discussions between people with differences in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. This helps members of the community get to know one another in a positive setting. This communication leads to lasting relationships with neighbors, the formation of neighborhood associations, and the establishment of community groups. These dinners help break down the barriers that can be found between different ethnic groups.

This year there will be fun dinner themes for all to enjoy!

Dinners are held in the homes of residents who sign up to be a host. There are 8 to 10 people at each home. Dinners vary from casual to formal depending on the host. There is no agenda. It's just about knitting the hearts of the community together.

As one resident said, "We arrived as guests and left as family."

"...the ability to work together to understand each other will not be ready made; it must be created by human contact."
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
