based on the March 17, 2008 meeting.

Board Meetings are usually held at 8 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of each month at Village Hall.
The next meeting will take place on Monday, April 7, 2008 at 8:00PM at Village Hall.


Parks and Recreation

Trustee Bennett made the following announcements:

The Community Center received a fresh coat of paint in the lobby and hallways during the week of March 3. Oh behalf of the Parks & Recreation Department, Trustee Bennett thanked residents and members for their patience during this project.

The Village of South Holland was recently recognized as a Tree City USA for the 7th consecutive year.

The annual Memorial Day Parade is Monday, May 26, 2008 at 11:00am. Anyone interested in participating should contact Lisa Wilson at the Community Center at 331-2940.

Early registrations for summer day camps and the men's softball league are being accepted at the Community Center.

Community Development

The Board approved Building Permits 2008-0095 through 2008-0126, 31 permits representing $464,981 of investment in the community. These permits include: signage for new businesses Heros Hoagies & Ice Cream on 162nd Street & Ellis, and TCF Bank inside Jewel/Osco; exterior facia renovation for a business located in the Town Center District; and roofing for Eisenhower School and Covenant United Church.

Finance

The Board Approved Register No. 607 for $1,218,458.20, covering day-to-day operations, vendor payments and salaries.

Other Notables:

A public hearing was held on the TIF Redevelopment Agreement for Rupari Foods. The $14 Million project is a 70,000 square foot expansion. Subsequent to the hearing, the Board approved an ordinance executing the redevelopment agreement.

Pastor Foli Orokule of Christ Apolistic Church offered the prayer at the start of the board meeting.

The Board approved the annual auditors agreement with McGladrey & Pullen.

The Board approved an amendment to Chapter 10 of the Village Code (Motor Vehicles) to add 3-way stop signs at 154th Street and Dearborn.
